Explore the Area.

Join us on holiday and discover the charm of our hidden corner of coastal England. The Manhood Peninsula is the little-known name for this West Sussex gem just south of Chichester. West Wittering beach is the most well-known spot in the area and has been a family favourite for generations. Soft golden sands, a balmy microclimate and ideal conditions for water sports put it firmly on the map of Great Britain’s best beaches. However, it’s not just the sandy beach that has those in the know returning year after year. The neighbouring seafront villages of East Wittering, Bracklesham Bay and Selsey also have vibrant communities with activities for the whole family in and out of the water, superb independent local retailers and a great selection of cafes and restaurants. Head inland a little and there is even more to explore. Picture chocolate-box countryside dotted with historic towns and villages including Itchenor, Bosham, Chichester, Arundel and Portsmouth; a wine region renowned for its exquisite sparkling, often compared to the finest Champagne; rolling hills; endless hiking trails and breath taking views; and culture in abundance. This idyllic region is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

Beach Days

The crown jewel of the area is its six and a half miles of stunning coastline, offering something for every kind of beach lover. Stretching from the National Trust’s East Head, a protected sand dune system and haven for birdwatchers, nature lovers, and dog walkers, this beautiful shoreline provides peaceful walks and sweeping views across Chichester Harbour and the Solent.

The coast then leads into the powder-soft sands of West Wittering, one of the region’s most popular family beaches. Here, visitors enjoy picnics, sandcastle building, paddling, and traditional seaside games, all supported by excellent facilities and wide open spaces.

Further along, the beaches of East Wittering and Bracklesham Bay offer a livelier atmosphere, where shingle shores meet rolling waves. At low tide, children explore rock pools and boogie board in shallow surf, while kite surfers, windsurfers, and surfers take advantage of the coastal winds and swell throughout the year.

With fresh sea air, beautiful sunsets, and ever-changing scenery, this stretch of coast provides the perfect setting for both peaceful strolls and action-packed beach days.
