A wonderful return visit
Lovely Holiday Home
Another brilliant sunny week
Beautiful location
In terms of positives, the property is on the seafront with absolutely amazing views. The living area is upstairs with a balcony so you can just sit and look out to the sea with uninterrupted views. Very relaxing indeed. The property has been developed to a very high standard of finish. The gap across the stairs in the living room would be a risk for young children unless carefully supervised as was the gap on the balcony to the down steps.
We visit Wittering regularly. This year the stones on the beach had been pushed up to the very edge of the path at the front over the winter to such a height that it was extremely difficult to get down to the beach anywhere along the front. This is not the property’s fault of course but worth considering as a holiday destination if you have mobility issues or young children.
Wellies and Windbreaks were excellent with their communication and we couldn’t fault them for their personal service and response time to any queries. The information we received prior to our visit was clear and easy to follow.
Overall, the location and sea views made the holiday very special and we would definitely like to return.
A relaxing 16 night stay with an amazing view to wake up to
Winter Break
We chose Samphire for a winter break and to recharge our batteries. The house was lovely, super clean and so cosy. Views of the sea were amazing particularly on a stormy day.
We enjoyed some gorgeous walks on the beach at East & West Wittering together with the East Head. The South Downs are also a short drive away.
Fabulous stay at Samphire
A stunning family holiday house
Beautiful Beach house.
Our stay
We were staying for the week as a celebration of my birthday and had a lovely week. It’s a fantastic property and the views were stunning.
The main thing that we need to mention is our eldest who is a very sensible 7 year old knocked the back of her head on the stone worktop which is placed directly behind one of the sofa’s. We did keep on moving the sofa away from the edge as could see it was very dangerous and something like this could happen. She got quite a bad cut on the back of her head which bled for quite some time. We felt this needed to be raised so something could be done to prevent this happening again to someone else. Perhaps and anti-slip rug is needed under the sofa?
The only other thing I thought I would mention is the mattress in the sea view bedroom was so springy and uncomfortable to sleep on I’m afraid.
Other than these two points we had a really lovely week and it was a great spot to celebrate my birthday.
Upside-down beachfront in excellent location.
Clean, stylish modern house in quiet location but within an easy walk of shops and eating places in downtown East Wittering. Living space upstairs with balcony giving gorgeous views over the sea with a panorama from Selsey Bill in the east to the Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower in the west, Isle of Wight in between. Direct beach access from the back garden either for swimming or lovely walks along the beach.
Downsides: 3 bedrooms may be limiting for some family groups. Some kitchen essentials missing or in short supply (e.g. only one sharp knife, only 4 of some crockery items, only coffee making by one quite small caffetiere).. Bedroom blinds don’t cut out much light and some small windows have no blinds (though not a privacy problem) – if you like to sleep in the dark bring eye masks. The beach here is shingle, with no sand exposed at high tide. Expensive.
We have holidayed in The Witterings for many years, but this is the nicest house we have stayed in. It was our second stay at Samphire.
Outstanding property on the beach
As soon as we walked in we were very impressed. Exceptional quality and the view was amazing. Very well stocked with crockery etc and lots of extra useful items provided too. Despite being on the beach it was actually quiet overnight. Personally it was a little lacking in privacy but you have to take that to get the location and views. A fair number of people took photographs, obviously keen to look at renting it themselves. The only downside was the heat but then it was an exceptional week and fans were provided. Just a few steps along the beach to a street with shops and many cafes.
Great holiday
Wonderful week in Samphire
We had a super week staying in Samphire over Easter. The house is fabulous – very stylish, clean, well kitted out and with a lovely garden. The location is perfect on the beach and just round the corner from East Witterings shops, pub etc. I thought the rental cost was reasonable compared to others and the communication from Wellies and Windbreaks was excellent.
lovely little property
A very nice house, well equipped, right on the beach and only 5 mins walk from the shops and restaurants. The sunsets were amazing.
Lovely addition of automatic everything! We stayed in November, so didn’t get much use of the garden, but it was kitted out well.
Bedrooms were very comfortable, bathroooms clean and modern.
In conclusion, a lovely house that is well worth the stay.
Beachfront, Convenient, Beautiful Views
We loved the upstairs living area with balcony and beautiful views over the beach, ocean and Isle of Wight. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the usual appliances, though a bit short on some crockery. The three downstairs bedrooms, two of which ensuite, are lovely, but beware the blinds are thin and some small “porthole” windoes can’t be covered, so if you like to sleep in the dark bring an eye-mask. There were also only 10.5 tog duvets – far too hot for August, especially in the warm south-facing master bedroom.
Outside, our daughter and teenage grandchildren loved being able to just pop out of the back gate onto the beach for a swim, and we oldies had lovely walks along the beach at low tide, when you can wak on the hard sand rather than wade through the shingle higher up. There is parking for two cars, and it’s only a short walk to Shore Road, the main street of East Wittering. And of course the Chichester area is rich in wonderful places to visit.
Amazing place for a break
