Your lockdown survival guide to coastal coffees and tasty takeaways in the Witterings

With miles of coastline to enjoy right on our doorstep, lockdown in the Witterings has consisted of daily beach walks and an endless stream of hot coffee!

When Covid-19 hit in March last year, nobody could have imagined that almost a year later, we would still be living life in limbo, waiting for things to return to “normal”.

Many businesses have struggled to keep their doors open, but fortunately, a handful of our local cafes have opened up for take-away (safely following government guidelines) to dish up tasty treats, hot coffee and heart-warming meals for the community to enjoy – and we’re excited to share our top 3 with you!

Supporting local has become more important than ever … and if that means we have to buy an extra cake or two from our favourite café, then we’re up for the challenge. If you are a local in the Witterings, it is time to pull on your wellies, wrap up warm and get walking – oh, and don’t forget to grab your take-away en-route!

Drift-Out Surf Café

Sandwiched between their Surf Shop and “Drift-In” café, the “Drift-Out” side of the business offers pretty much what it says on the tin… a full healthy menu to take away! Their coffee is regularly hailed “the best for miles”, their menu is bursting with gluten free/vegan options and it’s only a short walk through the village to the beach.

Open for take away Monday – Sunday 10am – 3pm.
