Is that sunshine we see? After what feels like the wettest May in history (ok, maybe we’re being a little dramatic, but it’s been pretty bleak!), we’re incredibly happy to see a brighter few weeks ahead – and we know our guests will be feeling the same way too!
With staycations proving to be incredibly popular and our portfolio of properties bursting at the seams for summer bookings, it’s great to see that businesses in the local villages are once again open for our guests (and locals alike) to enjoy.
Whilst lockdown had its fair share of downfalls, it did give many business owners the time to get creative and if you’ve been to the Witterings before, you’re likely to spot that there’s been a few changes made around here.
Our pals at Wittering Surf Brand have given their flagship store and café on Shore Road a facelift over lockdown, and we think it looks epic! The Lamb Inn threw themselves into “alfresco” dining earlier this month with their awesome new beer garden and a full line-up of live music – but are now thrilled to welcome punters back inside the newly decorated pub. Billy’s on the Beach used lockdown to rebrand the business and are offering up a fresh seaside menu from their updated modern beachfront restaurant. And Drifters added a new canopy over their front deck making it once again the perfect spot for a sundowner (come rain or shine!) in a tropical oasis.
If you’re looking for things to do whilst visiting the Witterings, you won’t be short of options. The Goodwood Estate nearby is famed for its horseracing and motorsport events, but there is something for everyone here! Take a look at the 2021 event calendar to see what’s going on. From family cycle days to vintage markets, there really is fun for all the family.
If you’re looking to unwind and yoga is your thing, then there is no need to miss out on your weekly stretch whilst away on your holidays! The Flow Movement have restarted their ‘Sunrise Beach Yoga’ classes on Friday mornings (7:00 – 7:45) in Bracklesham Bay (right by the sea!). What a way to start the day – spaces are limited so make sure you book in advance.
Enjoy a tipple or two? The Tinwood Estate’s Vineyards are situated in the heart of West Sussex at the foot of the South Downs National Park and have a reputation for producing the very finest English sparkling wines. But don’t take our word for it, give them a try! Learn about how the wines are made by joining one of the Tinwood Vineyard Tours where you’ll get the opportunity to visit the vineyard and afterwards, enjoy time in the stunning tasting room overlooking the vines – idyllic!
It really feels that life here (and across the country for that matter) has started to turn a corner and we’re delighted to see so many of our loyal guests returning to the Witterings for their summer getaways. Long may it continue! In the meantime, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and offering up a daily prayer to the sun gods!
