We had a lovely time. The weather was great. The house is excellent and very well equipped. Couple of things: all the kids got multiple splinters from the decks. Fingers bottoms etc. Suggest resanding and varnishing. Main bed is unbelievably creaky. And the futons are really uncomfortable!
Other than that lovely place and lovely garden.

Sherkin is spacious, homely and very welcoming. It’s in an excellent location for the beach, shops, restaurants and cafes; yet still manages to be peaceful. East Wittering is a delightful place and very dog friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Note that the driveway was very small and could just about fit two small cars. We’d definitely go again!

We really enjoyed our week at the Sherkin. It was very clean and was in a perfect position very near the town and the beach. The property was exactly as described on the web site and the patio and garden were excellent for eating with the sun on it almost all day.

Sherkin is a lovely house located in the village of east wittering . It is a very convenient location for us 2 mn walk from the beach and the village stores and cafes . The house is welcoming spacious bright relaxing with a big garden . It was very nice and a pleasurz dealing with amanda who is very efficient and goes beyond her ways to help you . Will definitely come back .

Lovely spacious property with wonderful garden, perfect for a beach break! Clean, crisp white decor throughout and well equipped.

We stayed here for my husbands 40th and it was perfectly located and really big. Really close to shops and amenities and beach. Perfect for families. Just on the chic side of shabby chic. Brilliant and memorable weekend.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Sherkin. We were two families; five children and four adults. We could not have chosen a better week to enjoy East Wittering, the weather was fabulous and the house is very well located. We did not need to get into our car for the whole week, as all the local amenities and independent restaurants were all a very short walk away.
Parking two family cars out in the front driveway is a bit of an issue; however there is parking available in the streets nearby.

Sherkin soon became our home away from home over the week, with its airy and open living area with easy access to the surprisingly large garden, where the children enjoyed running around, playing football and we enjoyed our nightly BBQ’s.
The bedrooms are of a good size and were lovely and cool in the evenings after a long sun filled day at the beach. The house was clean and tastefully decorated, however the décor on the photos from the website was slightly different to what there was when we arrived at Sherkin, as I understand it had new owners.

All in all our stay at Sherkin was wonderful and we have such special memories of our time in East Wittering, we will definitely book again!

The new owners need to give the property an overall. Furniture not great throughout, drafty 2nd floor making it unusable. Oven need replacing – dryer needs to be installed, not as expected.

Nine of us had a great week staying at Sherkin – 2 families plus a grandparent and dog. The house was spacious and well-equipped and the children loved exploring it. They also couldn’t play enough football in the large enclosed rear garden which is very well-kept. Parking 2 cars on the driveway is something of a challenge unless they’re small, but there’s plenty of parking in streets nearby. The location is pretty perfect in the village – seconds to walk to the shops and a couple of minutes to walk down the road to East Wittering beach. The beach appears pebbly at first but has sand at low tide, so it’s possible to build sandcastles whilst avoiding the hefty parking charges at West Wittering!
Amanda was very helpful and easy to contact during the week and resolved a couple of issues that we had. Her newsletter is well worth a read as it gave us ideas for activities that we wouldn’t otherwise have known about.
Just wish I’d remembered to take some piano music with me…

Excellent location 200 yds from East Wittering beach and 2 minutes walk from all shops and amenities. House is in great condition and stylishly furnished. The good sized sunny garden is a bonus. 2 of the 5 bedrooms are very small but accommodate a cot (provided) and kids bunk beds respectively. We were 1 family with 3 kids but the house could take 2 families with up to 6 kids. Couldn’t fault it and are likely to return in the future.

Thanks to Amanda & Angela for facilitating our last minute booking for Sherkin – a deceptively large house! Clear information on all aspects of the stay was shared up front and the house was perfect for a family of 4 (+ dog) but can easily accommodate more with the extra beds & futons. Even though the property is on a road to the beach, with multiple cafes/shops, there is no noise at all – even on the Bank Holiday weekend – allowing for a peaceful stay. The garden/deck was a bonus. I’d agree with the other reviews that off road parking would be tricky for anything other than 1 large car or 2 small cars – but there’s plenty of options nearby. Great facilities, great location and a great family holiday – we will be retuning! Missing the walks and breakfasts at Drifters already…..

What a lovely big house. We loved our stay at sherkin. Lovely position Very central to everything which made everything so simple. Beautiful wittering Beaches 100m friendly which was a bonus Going to miss our daily dog walks so most definitely going to book again. Amanda and Angela were brilliant looking after us

Had a great stay at Sherkin. Fantastic location. Garden is wonderful – nice deck and very flat for kids to run around in. House is very nice, plenty of space for two families.

Sherkin is in a truly wonderful location, right in the heart of East Wittering. Everything you could possibly need is on your door step and we loved the convenience of it all.

A particular highlight was the sheltered garden with different spots to enjoy the sunshine throughout the day! Absolute tranquility despite being so centrally located.

The service from Amanda at Wellies and Windbreaks was terrific and we had a thoroughly relaxing break. Just wish we could have stayed longer!
