Admiralty Cottage is a characterful, period property situated in the heart of East Wittering village close to shops, cafes, and the beach front. The cottage was recently renovated throughout but maintains all of its charm and original features. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, you will find everything you need in Admiralty Cottage to enjoy a break in the Witterings.

Comprising of:

  • Bedroom 1: King size bed
  • Bedroom 2: Bunk beds. The bunk beds are queen size width but custom built and slightly shorter than normal. Not suitable for adults over 5'6.

Originally built as one of the coastguards’ cottages, this home has been lovingly cared for and offers a cosy yet fresh space to enjoy. Off the entrance hall at the front of the property, you will find a bright reception room with TV and a feature fireplace and log burner. Perfect for those chilly winter days. The well-equipped open-plan kitchen diner, also on the ground floor, offers direct access outside onto a small private garden with lawn, patio seating and BBQ to enjoy on a warm summer’s day.

Upstairs you will find the large master bedroom, originally the lookout for the coastguards, which has been beautifully decorated and is full of period features. From the original fireplace to the four-poster king-size bed, this space oozes luxury. The second bedroom to the back was once the coastguards map room and offers additional sleeping for two. Whilst the bunk beds are queen size in width, they’re slightly shorter than normal and therefore are not suitable for adults over 5’6 – we would recommend this used only by children. Both rooms share the modern bathroom upstairs and there is an additional WC downstairs.

Small but perfectly formed, Admiralty Cottage is furnished to a very high standard. With shops and café’s right on your doorstep and just a 5-minute walk to the beach, it’s the perfect base for a couple or small family looking to enjoy East Wittering and it’s surroundings. Admiralty Cottage is also pet friendly, making it the perfect house for a break away at the beach with your dog. We just ask that you respect our pet friendly rules and clear up after your pets in the garden, plus do not allow them on the soft furnishings or upstairs.

There is off-road parking to the rear of the property for two cars.

Another great property from Wellies & Windbreaks

Just had a one week stay here and can say that Admiralty Cottage is a great little (not so little!) ‘home from home’ – fitted out and equipped with everything you will need for a holiday here, either for a couple or for a couple with two small children. A very convenient location for shops, cafes etc (very clean and well-organised Co-op with long opening hours immediately next door) and only 5 mins walk from beach. Pretty cottage garden on three sides of property is dog and child proof and provides sunny spots to sit in at any time of day. Two dedicated parking spaces by back gate are a bonus. Certainly a property we hope to return to, and Wellies & WIndbreaks always very helpful and professional to deal with.

November short break

Verified Up Front Reviews
A well presented and tastefully furnished property. It’s large for a 2 bed house. Also very quiet. There were hundreds of people outside for the Christmas light switch on and we didn’t hear a thing! Appreciated the good quality towels and bedding and agent telling us we could arrive at 11am rather than 4pm. A great base for exploring the lovely area. We plan to return at the same time next year.

Fabulous holiday home close to the beach!

We had a wonderful week at Admiralty Cottage! The house is spacious, homely, very comfortable and well equipped. And we enjoyed the wraparound garden where you could sit and enjoy a drink in the sun or the shade (the weather was amazing during our stay so the shade was sometimes a welcome respite!). The house is in the thick of all of the great amenities of East Wittering – cute boutique shops and we loved the bread and pastries from Knead and the gelati from Dom’s pizzeria! We enjoyed walking to the stunning sandy beach at West Wittering and then onwards around East Head – incredible views. Cycling the Salterns Way was another highlight, as was dinner at The Crown and Anchor. All in all a fabulous week and we will definitely stay here if we visit the area again in future. Thanks for the hospitality!

Our stay at Admirality Cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
This was our second time staying in Admirality Cottage. We really do love it there and absolutely everything you need is provided for you. Everything is to a very high standard and it really feels like a home from home. My only gripe was that it would have been nice if the lawn had been mown as it was quite long, and all of the bird poop had been jet washed off the patio slabs as there was quite a build up in the back garden and our toddler kept standing in it whilst playing which wasn’t great!

Lovely house, finished to a very high standard

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had a lovely stay at the property. The owners have clearly invested in the house with high quality fixtures and fittings. The main bedroom was a really decent size and the children loved the double bunk beds in the second bedroom, which was bigger than it looked on the photographs.
The garden was a decent size albeit an odd shape but did mean we could sit around the front of the house to catch the evening sun and the fences and gates which have been placed meant the children were always safe and secure.
Location wise it was only a 5 minute walk to beach passed lots of nice bakeries and places to drink and eat.
Our only very small issue was at night time there were some teenagers which cycled up and down the road and were rather loud so we had to keep the windows in the bedroom closed which made it a touch warm but this would by no means prevent us from booking again.

Gorgeous spot in the heart of the Witterings

Verified Up Front Reviews
Admiralty Cottage was as comfortable a spot as we could have hoped wanted for a beach week. The cottage itself is lovely, with private outdoor spaces for meals and inside is perfect for couples or a small family. Gourmet kitchen, one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in, a fantastic sitting room for evening movies, and a big tub made for a brilliant stay. And the location was the cherry on top – a 5 minute walk to the beach and easy access to lovely local shops and restaurants. We’re already looking at another week next year.

Fabulous cottage!

First of all, the communication from Amanda was excellent!
The cottage itself is located in the heart of East Wittering so the shops and beach are very accessible. The cottage is beautifully styled and kitted out so you can really relax but also self-cater easily. The beds are really comfortable and there is plenty of outdoor space. We had the most gorgeous weather so loved the garden table and chairs for eating outside. Swam every day in the sea and did many walks along the beach, particularly to see the sun sets. We will definitely visit again in the future!

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Admiralty Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and cozy. It is also very well located right in the heart of East Wittering Village and a five minute walk to the beach. Amanda from Wellies and Windbreaks was very helpful and responsive. She also provided a very useful guide of the area. Thanks you!

Cosy break

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had a lovely stay at Admiraty Cottage, our children loved the bunk beds, and we all enjoyed the wood burner in the lounge. The cottage is conveniently located next to co-op, Tesco and the local high street, perfect for families.
We could have done with more bath towels (4 towels for 4 of us, another couple would have been great). And the bed frame (although beautiful) on the master bedroom was so squeaky! All in all we had a fab time, would stay again.
