Bosham is a picturesque harbour village and is rich in history.  The ancient church was featured in the Bayeaux Tapestry, the Romans used it as a port and King Canute ordered the tide not to come in from his palace here.  Do be careful of those tides, they definitely do come in over the road next to the harbour.  The excellent local pub, the Anchor Bleu has some entertaining photos on its walls of cars three feet deep in water.  Not funny if it is your car though, so be warned.  The Crate Cafe is also great place for good food and good atmosphere.

There are some good gift shops, particularly in Bosham Walk where you can buy a wide range of excellent locally made artwork and crafts.  A little further down the road you can explore the roman findings at Fishbourne Roman Palace.  Its well worth a visit.

Bosham Sailing Club has an active and vibrant sailing community.  Whether you are a proficient sailor or a beginner you can join a sailing course here throughout the year.

Alternatively, you could just while the day away feeding the ducks on the millstream by the church or swinging on the rope swing.  If you have some bacon and a long length of string try your hand at crabbing.  Dell Quay nearby is the best spot for this and you can stop off for lunch at the Crown & Anchor at the same time.  Take your paddle board or canoe and enjoy a potter on the estuary.  Its lovely in the evening on a balmy summer’s night.
